# Metric Tree

See how real users move between your pages, where they drop off, and why.

The metric tree maps your site's pages and the paths users take between them, from your widget's navigation data and, if connected, Google Analytics.

<Screenshot src="/docs/screenshots/metric-tree-toolbar.png" alt="The metric tree toolbar: Auto Layout, Folders, Pages, Refresh, Analyze, Add Node, Sync Data, Paths and Funnel" />

## The toolbar

* **Auto Layout** tidies the map; **Folders** groups pages by path; **Pages** shows or hides pages.
* **Analyze** runs AI Diagnosis on every page flagged as a problem.
* **Add Node** adds a North Star, Metric or Initiative node, to connect pages to the numbers you care about.
* **Sync Data** pulls the latest analytics; **Refresh** reloads the map.
* **Paths** and **Funnel** open path analysis and funnels (below).

## What's on the canvas

* **Pages** as nodes, with screenshots captured in the background (see [Settings → Metric Tree](/docs/dashboard/settings#metric-tree)).
* **Path Analysis**: real user navigation flows from a start page.
* **Funnels**: define a sequence of pages and see where sessions drop off, step by step.
* **Data Source** on a node: where its numbers come from, such as Google Analytics.

## AI Diagnosis

Open a page node and use **AI Diagnosis** (or **Analyze** for all flagged pages) to get a **Root Cause** and a **Suggested Fix** for where users struggle, based on the page's metrics, screenshot and frustration signals (rage clicks, dead clicks, error bursts). You can **Ask about this page** in your own words too.

## Link a tour

**Link Tour** on a node connects it to the tour that guides that page, so the tree shows where guidance exists and where it doesn't.
