### How does the auto-generation work?
GuideMark's engine analyzes your DOM structure and user interactions to automatically identify the key steps. It effectively watches you use your app and builds the tour in real time, which you can then refine in a no-code visual editor.

Yes, at https://guidemark.co/api/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Agents connect by signing in with GuideMark in the browser, so there is no API key to copy. Its tools read the project, create and edit tours and beacon tooltips, publish when you allow it, and email you when a draft is ready for review. Scripts and CI can use the REST API at https://guidemark.co/api/v1 with an API key instead.

### Can an agent publish without my approval?
Not by default: agents save drafts only. An agent can put something live, or change or delete anything that is live, only if the project allows agent publishing in Settings → Agents and you gave that agent publish access when you connected it. When a draft is finished, the agent can ask for a review, which emails the project owner a link to it.

### Will this slow down my app?
The script loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block your page from rendering.

The user picks one project and clicks Allow; there is no key to copy. A sign-in gets the "read" and "write_drafts" scopes, plus "publish" only if the user ticks it.

- get_project: This key's project: name, domain, agent publish policy, and whether this key can publish.
- get_install_snippet: The script tag that installs GuideMark on this key's site, where to put it in Next.js, React (Vite), Vue and plain HTML, and whether the widget has loaded yet (widget.lastSeenAt). Use it to add GuideMark to the user's codebase.
- list_tours: Every tour in the project, drafts included, without their steps.
- get_tour: One tour with all its steps.
- create_tour: Create a tour with all its steps in one call. Saved as a draft unless publish is true.
- update_tour: Replace a tour's title, page and every step. Editing a live tour needs publishing rights.
- delete_tour: Delete a tour. Deleting a live tour needs publishing rights.
- set_tour_published: Put a tour live (switching off the live tour on its page) or take it back to draft. Needs publishing rights.
- list_beacons: Every beacon tooltip in the project, drafts included.
- create_beacon: Create a beacon tooltip. Saved as a draft unless publish is true.
- update_beacon: Change any fields of a beacon tooltip. Editing a live one needs publishing rights.
- delete_beacon: Delete a beacon tooltip. Deleting a live one needs publishing rights.
- set_beacon_published: Put a beacon tooltip live or take it back to draft. Needs publishing rights.
- request_review: Tell the project owner a draft is finished: emails them a link to review and publish it. Pass exactly one of tourId or beaconId. Call once per finished draft, not after every edit; each draft emails at most once an hour.

Rules:

- Start with get_project: it returns the site's domain and whether this credential can publish.
- pageUrl is a path on the project's site, like "/pricing". Steps and tooltips point at elements by CSS selector; prefer ids and data attributes over generated class names.
- Everything is created as a draft that visitors don't see. Publishing needs both the project's agent publish policy set to "publish" (Settings → Agents) and the publish scope on the key or sign-in. Without both, an agent also can't edit or delete anything that is live.
- When a draft is finished, call request_review once: it emails the project owner a link to review and publish it, at most once per draft per hour.
- One tour is live per page; publishing a tour switches off that page's current one.
- If the agent can't publish, tell the user the draft is waiting for them in the GuideMark dashboard.
